+ Top FAQs with Plex - for more help please check the WIKI.
- How do I add internet video such as TED, YouTube, CNET etc?
- Internet sources are added using the App Store found in the Applications menu. See the following screencast for more info. vimeo.com/3315184
- One of the plug-ins has stopped working.
- If a plug-in stops working, it’s likely that the structure of the site changed. This doesn’t happen very frequently with most sites, but it’s a definite possibility. When this occurs, an entity we call the “Campfire Robot” springs into action automatically and tracks us down to let us know, and shortly thereafter we can push an update. As such, if a site stops working, the best thing to do is to check the App Store for updates. If you have automatic updates turned on, check your install history to see if an update got installed while you were getting coffee.
- I don’t see the Applications Menu Item.
- If you previously used v5 of Plex we suggest deleting the folder called Plex found in ~/Library/Application Support/. Many things have changed and a fresh install will ensure the best performance with Plex.
- How do I make Movies and TV Shows show up in their respective areas with poster art, plot info, etc?

Something to brighten your weekend
We have lots of interesting plug-ins in the works, but this one is kind of special. After all, who doesn’t love Pandora? Scott, who never ceases to amaze me with his plug-in writing prowess, whipped this lovely gem up. It still has a few rough edges, such as the need to log into Pandora with Safari, but we couldn’t resist releasing it early for you to play with.
You’ll note that the last menu item at the top level is a help screencast that walks you though the plug-in, which Isaac made. Please watch it if you have any questions. The only other tricky bit besides logging in through Safari is that we’ve added special controls for this plug-in: Hitting “right” moves to the next track, hitting “up” gives the track a thumbs up, and hitting “down” gives the track a thumbs down. (Sometimes you have to hit the key/button twice).
Hopefully it’s a fun new addition to the content available in Plex!

works with keyboard but only the “right” works on the apple remote. I can’t rate the songs with the remote.
@Jose: Try “hold right” for thumbs up and “hold left” for thumbs down. These are the key combinations for big skip forward and back.
Thanks!!! Now I can rate songs from across the room or the kitchen.
offtopic but please fix download link for version 0.7.10 ( last version to have file manager ) please. I’d like to get it on my macpro and i hate the idea of going to .7.12 where its not present.

@wally: Sorry, I fixed it when you first commented, but forgot to reply
Totally off-topic, but I just wanted to say I discovered Plex recently and it seems pretty great. thanks to all those who are working on it!
I was wondering if there was a website dedicated to the plug-ins, explaining what they do, etc?

I’d like to play Gershwin’s “But Not For Me”, but Pandora’s not for me.
I just noticed that Plex can’t control the volume in pandora.
Been using plex for two days now, even my gf likes it. wow….

I get path not found when I try to execute Pandora-
I tried:
In Applications
1) Rest
2) Uninstall
3) Re-install
Is there anything else ?
