- How do I add internet video such as TED, YouTube, CNET etc?
- Internet sources are added using the App Store found in the Applications menu. See the following screencast for more info. vimeo.com/3315184
- One of the plug-ins has stopped working.
- If a plug-in stops working, it’s likely that the structure of the site changed. This doesn’t happen very frequently with most sites, but it’s a definite possibility. When this occurs, an entity we call the “Campfire Robot” springs into action automatically and tracks us down to let us know, and shortly thereafter we can push an update. As such, if a site stops working, the best thing to do is to check the App Store for updates. If you have automatic updates turned on, check your install history to see if an update got installed while you were getting coffee.
- I don’t see the Applications Menu Item.
- If you previously used v5 of Plex we suggest deleting the folder called Plex found in ~/Library/Application Support/. Many things have changed and a fresh install will ensure the best performance with Plex.
- How do I make Movies and TV Shows show up in their respective areas with poster art, plot info, etc?

Release 0.7.9: A few goodies
We’re really happy to see that people seem to be enjoying the store. We’ve had tens of thousands of plug-ins downloaded already, and we have a bunch of new ones in the works! In the meantime, we’ve cooked up another quick release to try to fix the most egregious issues with the last one.
- FIX: Fixed permissions on the Plex binary to allow non-administrative users to run.
- FIX: Tweaks to the skin for upcoming Plug-ins.
- FIX: Some crashes and leaks in the Media Server.
- FIX: Fixed the scrapers/NFO issue, this time for real (many thanks to Isaac for all the hard work on this one!). We also include the TMDB scraper again.
- FIX: A regression where only the first iPhoto album showed up.
- FIX: Improved compatibility with Flash sites for the Media Server.
The release can be downloaded here or via Sparkle as usual.

Rad! Do you (and Barkley) live in SF? We should buy you a beer or dogbone or something.
Where are the plug-ins hosted? Do you need the user mirrors to do anything to help with plug-ins? Let us know…
@grey: That photo was taken about 2 years ago, before we moved out to Hawaii, so unfortunately I won’t be able to take you up on your kind offer.
@Roopesh: The plug-ins are all hosted on our server, kindly provided by Liquid Gravity. We’ll definitely let you know if we need a mirror.
I’m sure it’s mentioned in the forums, but I shouldn’t even be *here* during work much less scouring there — any update on Netflix support?
And Hawaii? Ok, now I’m jealous.
Thanks for the release guys…I’m loving the preparatory work by everyone.
Barkley looks especially happy in that photo. Thanks for the update. Amazing as always guys!
Just downloaded version 0.7.9.
Says it was last modified Monday, July 28, 2008 3:05 AM. WTF?
@Tony: Um, *mumble, mumble* time machine *mumble*
Elan,
0.7.9, on auto update library, is rescanning all of my .cd1/.cd2 films into multiple library entries. It is keeping the existing entry, and adding 2 more for each part.
I rediscovered PLEX after I bought myself a big ass Samsung System 6 LCD TV. The integration with OSX is amazing. Still trying to figure out the section TV shows and Movies. My donation will follow shortly.
BTW I keep downloading 0.7.14, instead 0.7.9.
