Blog Migration
What better thing to do on a perfectly sunny Saturday morning than migrate blogs? I can actually think of plenty of things, but Isaac convinced me this would be a perfect time, and thanks to his great support, we got the blog migrated and upgraded to the latest Wordpress. The old URL should send you to the new one, and the RSS feed (through Feedburner) is unchanged. Isaac and Ryan both have blogs now too.
I made a couple of tiny tweaks to the site in the process, my favorite of which is support for gravitars in the comments. Don’t have one yet? What are you waiting for?
I believe everything is now finally under one domain roof now, with blogs, forums, and wiki all at plexapp.com. Many thanks to Isaac for working tirelessly to make this happen in such a seamless fashion!

Nice clean design. Congratulations!
Wow, the header image looks absolutely awful! Not to mention it’s a pixel off on either side. The entire site would look much better with a straight header.
@Nathaniel: Thanks, your thoughtful comment makes me very happy that I code for a living and only dabble at design for the pure fun of it.
Elan! Seriously, you’re going like 100 mphs, you gotta slow down. I get drunk and sleep for 2 hours and you change everything.
Good job to you and Isaac.
Excellent, I like the whole integration!
Arf, I was trying the gravatar, but I made a mistake in the email (:
So, here we go again:
Excellent, I like the whole integration!
I’m using Firefox 2, some of the comments fall outside the left of the screen and they cannot be scrolled into view :-/
It seems to work in Safari though
Nice one Elan. You keep on working like a mad scientist, hehe. Keep it up.
yeah firefox2 here and all the names/post-dates are squashed together separate from the comments.
Firefox 3 works fine. Who cares about Firefox2? They should update
What type of dog is barkley? I’m trying to get a dog soon, he seems like he has a really fun personality.
@ManKinahan: He’s a mixed breed, 50% bullmastiff and 50% ridgeback or american staffordshire, we’re not sure.
I love seeing all the gravitars!!
(As soon as I get a spare moment, I’ll fix for FF2, sorry about that.)
Gravatar goodness! Loving the direction that Plex is heading in - keep up the good work guys
hey elan, what’s it about your twitter post “Great progress on cool new feature…”? what cool new feature?
br
@utility73: You’ll just have to wait until it’s done to find out
Probably not in the next RC, but likely in the final.
Good call on teh Gravatar. Love it! Go Plex!
sweet
hey elan, could you setup a favicon for your new blog location.
Happy Birthday ELAN!!!!
@utility73: Favicon has been restored!
elan:
Sorry man, I really didn’t mean for it to sound so harsh. I meant it purely as constructive criticism. I apologize.
Even so, it does look horrible. Just straighten it back out so that, at least, it connects properly to the sides of the rest of the page. My inner web designer is crying like a baby whenever I visit this site. He does, however, shine right back up again whenever I start Plex on my mac mini. Thank you for being a much better developer than designer!!!
@Nathaniel: No offense taken
The design will be changed shortly to reflect our new branding. However, coding takes priority until we get the next release out.
