- How do I add internet video such as TED, YouTube, CNET etc?
- Internet sources are added using the App Store found in the Applications menu. See the following screencast for more info. vimeo.com/3315184
- One of the plug-ins has stopped working.
- If a plug-in stops working, it’s likely that the structure of the site changed. This doesn’t happen very frequently with most sites, but it’s a definite possibility. When this occurs, an entity we call the “Campfire Robot” springs into action automatically and tracks us down to let us know, and shortly thereafter we can push an update. As such, if a site stops working, the best thing to do is to check the App Store for updates. If you have automatic updates turned on, check your install history to see if an update got installed while you were getting coffee.
- I don’t see the Applications Menu Item.
- If you previously used v5 of Plex we suggest deleting the folder called Plex found in ~/Library/Application Support/. Many things have changed and a fresh install will ensure the best performance with Plex.
- How do I make Movies and TV Shows show up in their respective areas with poster art, plot info, etc?

Release 0.5-RC3: Statistical bugfixing
The crash reports filtered in today, and at the end of the day I sorted them into folders. There were literally 26 identical crashes when playing VIDEO_TS, which is a great sign that a lot of people are running into the problem. Thanks so much to the people who wrote a quick description. Feel free to add your email if you don’t mind me contacting you for further information.
Anyway, the release today (HTTP, Torrent, Source) fixes the most common crashes and hangs that I observed after a day of watching reports come in.
- FIX: Possible crash when adding or editing source.
- FIX: Crash playing VIDEO_TS files (the biggest one!)
- FIX: Code signing is done correctly, so it will behave with Leopard Firewall.
- FIX: Lots of crashes as a result of some optical drive code still being enabled by default.
- FIX: A *ton* of hangs doing various things (e.g. adding sources, stopping video). The problem was that the scanner thread (which sometimes starts when the program starts), creates a big-ass database transaction inside which it does tons of time-consuming things like network scraping. This means that (a) no other database operations can run, like saving where you were in a file for resuming when you stop, or setting content on a source and (b) if the scan gets aborted for some reason, you end up with nothing in the database! The transactional design is simply incorrect. For now I’ve simply disabled the transaction, which fixes all the hangs, but it *may* introduce other issues (but hopefully not). I’ll choose the devil I don’t know on this one.

Awesome, much better. A+
thanks. fixed the firewall problem for me:)
Anyone else getting extremely slow download speeds?? I’m getting about 4.5KB/sec right now and its not my connection.
Speed problem appears to have cleared up now…
VIDEO_TS working great now! Thanks for the speedy repair!
Lovvvvvvvve youuuuuu… and stuff like that.
Does this version still break GPL with SmartCrashReports? You don’t need to link to those two .o files for it to work without breaking GPL, but for some reason you do…
Great! Now get on with the 24p support work!
I now have the problem that subtitles show up and dissapear. No rhytm, pure random. Didn’t had the problem with the XBMC versions.
But the menu in Aeon works smoother now!:)
